9' x 5' cnc, need help about mechanical

Hi all im from far east,
soon i have plan build 9' x 5' cnc laser co2 machine gantry load is laser tube 4' long and power supply. i need help about choosing mechanical like belt or ball screw, linear guided bearing etc.

last year i success build 4' x 3' cnc with ballscrew 16mm diamater and linear guide bearing 20mm. but for long 9' x 5' i have difficult since its will need long ballscrew, which one better belt or ballscrew for 9' and 5' and did i need dual x gantry also?

i have this part already :
    - gecko g202 stepper driver with 48v psu.
    - sanyo denki nema 23 170oz or 230oz. ( will i need upgrade stepper motor?)
    - mach3.

    frame probably 8020 T slot.

    Please advise.

    thank you

I believe that you need to go with a rack and pinion, because of the large cnc you are planing to make, use a 3 to 1 reducction as a drive train, a ball screw is going to add a lot of inertia, and is going to be difficult to stop rotating or to start.

Surely Rack and Pinion, as karlo pointed out. For a better choice (with a higher cost indeed), you may consider Nexen's.

Untuk sepanjang itu, ballscrew akan melengkung. Gunakan rack-gear sebagai drivernya.
Stepper motor sudah mencukupi (nema23 270oz), karena beban lensa laser tidak signifikan.
