    Abnormal current Alarm

Hi, over the last year or so I have had this alarm (F438 X axis inv. abnormal current) come on when starting my 2000 model VS50. Sometimes it is Y axis and sometimes X. I have noticed that it only happens during the colder months and if you leave the control on for 10 minutes or so, turn it off and on again, its all good. Any ideas on what is failing? Thanks

A failing motor or encoder might show these symptoms.
When they’re cold, their resistance could change, and the system might not detect the proper current flow until warmed up.
Inspect the wiring and connectors for any signs of corrosion, wear, or loose connections.
