    Advice Using Tiny End Mills

    Hi Guys,

I'm using a CNC'd X3 mill and I need to machine some tiny features. I'll be using a 20mil and a 7mil carbide tools which I originally bought for some PCB milling.

    So two questions:

Can I use my Shar's Z-Setter tool with these end mills or will they just snap off?

Second, the features need to be 10mils deep. What feed rate and DOC should I use? My mill only goes up to about 2k rpm.

    Thanks.

    Hi TaK,

First, could you tell us what tiny materials you need processing, plastics, wood, stone, or…?
What’s the feed rate you set before?
And how about the spindle of your CNC machine? 1.5kw, 3kw, 4.5kw…?

If any questions, you could visit http://www.astech-cnctools.com/, you may also find some Stronger PCD router bits for your CNC router with beautiful artworks, or just email me directly.

    Hope ASTECH can help!
    Best regards,
    Alice
