I've just installed the new V8 update and have been playing with the 3D clipart, reasonable results so far with a chicken and a mouse.
Anybody else been playing with the new features?

Hello JCraft,
I am looking at the training videos... I am liking the upgrades to the new VC8 version. I was using Inventor PRO 2015, Cut3D and VCarve 7.5. I now can just open the STL file in VC8 and do not have to go through the 15 steps to cut out my models. Nice upgrade.

I upgraded immediately upon notification of it's availability and the transition from 7.5 to 8 is very easy. I would not call myself a power user, however V8 has many enhancements to simplify it's use and modeling functionality. The more I use it the more I like it...... Paul
WOW! I upgraded from VCarve Pro 6.5 to 8.0 last week and am so glad that I did! The upgrade cost was a pittance, when compared to other companies, and I was impressed with the level of documentation and tutorials. I use Sprut CAM, VCarve Pro and and Photo VCarve in my day to day making endeavors. The version 8 VCarve Pro workflow is very nice. It directly imports my Rhino Cad files and the 3D roughing and finishing tool paths work very well! There is a lot of value in this CAM package and it is pretty simple to learn compared to Sprut CAM (which I will still be using as needed for complex assemblies and 4th axis machining).
