Our shop has an air engraver. Probably wouldn't be too hard to attach one to your table. Most important would be a way of turning it on and off.
Basically the pin is held up in a cylinder with a spring until air is entered. The air pushes the pin down maybe 1/4" until it passes an "exhaust" port and the air pressure is lost and the spring pushes it back up. 50 PSI max will easily mark any type of metal.

Some folks call it a metal marker and others call it an engraver. I want to use one in making some custom trophies for car shows.
