the 4th axis attaced or in use, we are keen to get one but need to see one in operation.
We're looking at the Hardinge VMC1000 Series 2, it certainly looks the goods.
Not sure what cad/cam package we'd get either.

A week or so from now I'll have a Fadal VMC with a full fourth. Can't promise I'll be running programs by then but I'm working on it. I'll post pics when I get everything installed.
As far as CAD/CAM goes I just got Mastercam mill3, all of their levels come with multiaxis capability, and learning 4 axis is going pretty smooth so far.
You can index, do a 4th axis wrap, or run as a true 4th axis.
