Hello, A friend is having a problem with his Fadal VMC 20. When running any
one of his programs, an M6 command causes an emergency stop after
the tool has been released. Doing a manual TC,3 command, no problem.
Also, running program 8505(Work the tool changer), no problem. Any
help will be appreciated.

I know of no Fadal service program 8505 or the command TC,3 in a VMC 20. Can you explain each so I can understand you issue?

Neal, When a TC,3 command is entered at the command prompt,a tool
change funtion will happen. The 8xxx command came from Appendix A
in the Maintenance manual. There's a bunch of 8xxx commands for
checking different funtions. I don't know a whole lot about this machine
so please bear with me. Thanks.

TC,1; will bring the turret to the spindle; will this happen with tools loaded in the spindle/turret?

The owner of the VMC 20 was using the TC,3 command without tools.
When using the 5805 command from the TA,2 Service program, it was
with tools and ATC was no problem.
