    Axis calibration

    Hi guys
I've just finished my small router, it uses 1mm pitch thread lead screws and anti backlash nuts. At the moment the motors are set at 2000 steps, 200 steps per rev, micro stepping x 10 so we should have 2000 steps per mm travel, correct? Trouble is even though both X and Y axis run the same motors and srews there seams to be a small amount of difference in distance traveled. Is it ok to set sets different for each axis or should I look else where? So more steps = less distance covered, correct?

    Thanks

    That is wrong.
Try halving the acceleration and top speed, and see what happens.

    Thanks
If I half the speed I'll have to reduce the cutter RPM by half as well, right? I don't think my dremel will have any power that slow...

So you think I may be loosing steps?

You don't have to reduce the speed of the Dremel just to run some tests.

So you think I may be loosing steps?
    That's my first guess.

First find out what is happening ...

    Cheers
