    Exclamation Backlash Test Files

    Hi ya'll,

In order to assist you with determining if your setup is missing steps, I posted two test files that I use. I assembled those from few routines, including the roadrunner, that are likely to skip if you have a problem. It is a good test tool. Set your external DRO, or whatever means you use, to zeros, and run it. If it is still reads zero after the run, you are all set. Listen to the motors, as you will hear the difference when the motors lock and skip.

    1. Use this routine to determine the real dynamic system speed (IPM). If your setup passes this, you have nothing to worry about on any job

    2. You will need to edit the feed line F80.000000 to set whatever speed you wish to test. Note: do not cut with this file, and the motor is not turned on.

You can get the files from:

    http://cnc.novalab.org/files/BLTEST-Short.NC

    http://cnc.novalab.org/files/BLTEST-Long.NC

I have not yet had a chance to include them to my website pages.

Also, I have permanently set my homemade CNC web-site to http://cnc.novalab.org/ . The old location is still available for a day or so, but will redirect you when I delete the files.

I have several GB of space, and if you have anything you wish to share with the others, let me know. I will be putting up a new, forum dedicated to do-it-yourself CNC people.

    Regards,

    Chris K.
