    Backup Battery

    Hi,

I have a ML-15 lathe with a Cent 6 control. I have a bad backup battery. I have located the battery and cannot get it out. To me, it looks like it is just a clip holding it on there. I was wondering if I need to use a little more force to remove it or if it is tacked in there somehow. The battery number is CR2032.

    Thanks!!

CR2032 is usually the 'coin' battery fitted to PC's, normally there is just a clip to release it?
I don't ever recall seeing one with solder tabs, if so it would probably have a suffix.

    Hi tear_inc

depending on the battery holder design

you could find the battery is held in place by the springy positive contact pushing down onto the battery

or the battery holder has a latch that holds the edge of the battery
the latch can be either part of the plastic holder or a separate springy metal piece

have a look at this link--

while the CR2032 is used with a battery holder

you may find some equipment that uses a tagged version thats soldered to the board

look at the BR2032 link ---
