    Backup files on OSP5000LG

    Hello,
I have an old LB-15 lathe with the OSP5000-LG control. I would like to backup the IGF files in the control to disk. Can anyone give me some tips on how to do this? Thanks.

The 5000L-G was using Bubble memory at the time and has no hard disk. The only way to save the IGF file is to do it on an Okuma formatted floppy. Floppy drives were not standard on the machine at that time, so you would need to have one in order to accomplish this. The IGF file has an expanded ASCII character set, so it will not transfer over RS-232.

    Best regards,
Experience is what you get just after you needed it.

This control can do a DIR (Directory listing) but it has a default setting of *.MIN filenames.... so it won't show all files
    * is a wildcard combination of any characters
    ? is a wildcard character

    if you go <EDIT> <DIR> *.* <WRITE>
    - it should give you a listing of ALL files contained in the control memory

I think you can batch transfer, but it needs to be written correctly
ie <EDIT> <PIP> CO MD1:*.MIN FD0; ( this would copy all min files onto an Okuma formatted disk )

Similar method exists if you have the MSDOS option on the control
