    Unhappy board problem

I made my own board with uhu servocontroller and have to fix one problem. when i connect pc and board i dont get parameters or are shown but are mixed with symbols ( leters and symbols ) (:

What could be wrong? Capacitors across rs232 , 10uF 100V or 27pF capacitor on xtal, anything else?

Have you checked that everything is connected right? If so, the check it again. That's what I do when something doesn't work.

Also try with a different Xtal. If you got it from Uli then you should not have problems, but if you purchased it yourself it will not always be suitable. It should be first order, because some Xtals say 24Mhz, but they are actually 8's working in 3'rd order mode. I guess the schematic is different then.

From the board I see less tnan usual elements. Is this only the processor part, and the power section is supposed to be on another board?

    Happy new year,
    Todor
