Table issues
I am in the middle of building my own table. I like most done a good bit of research before deciding to build my own. I would much rather have bought a table (Some assembly required). But after reading many posts similar to this thread. I decided if I was going to have to rebuild a table, I'd much rather build it myself to start with.
I am not attempting to save loads of money in building my own I just want a table that is as accurate as possible & will take usage in an industrial environment. & if wear develops be repairable without having to cut it apart & rebuild from the ground up.
As far as software I'd much rather hace an "open" system for replacement parts & have the option of using what ever software I choose or my budget can afford.
I built my machine shop & fab shop on quality of the products I manufacture. I stand behind my work. On the rare occasion that a quality control issue arises. I don't want, nor do I expect my customer to "foot the bill" for my mistake.
I can certainly see $10,000 + in manufacturing one of these tables. If I'd paid that I most certainly would have been very very upset with the issues Scorpion has described. & I'd expect a replacement to be shipped the next day. It wouldn't happen but that's what I'd want.
I think it is far to commonplace for things like this to happen. Quantity not quality. "get it out, we'll fix it later" Knowing 99.9% will stay out there after being shipped. I'm not picking on any one CNC table maker at all. If you read enough you can find plenty of bad & also plenty of good in most all of them.
If it works.....Don't fix it!
