I am lookong for someone with this machine so I can collaberate with them. There are issues I would like to address about this machine that would be greatly appreciated. Its a good machine but a couple of problems that keep it from being a very good machine. To start with the rigid tapping only partially works and cant figure it out. Anyone out there have one of these machines that has this function working prperly. Thanks. Mike.

Are you sure you have rigid tapping? I do not recall these machines having this as standard.

Well, it is Cycle Def 2. It requires a floating tap holder. What my machine does, as an example, once the cycle starts the quill goes down about .1 inch than stops. I have to hit the cycle start button again, goes down .1 inch then stops have to hit the cycle button again. Keeps doing this till thread depth. When reversing have to do the same thing till it reaches clearance. Cant operate this way. Any help will help. Thanks. Mike.

A floating tap holder is not rigid tapping.
The first Bridgeport I saw with rigid tapping was in Interact 1020 with a Fanuc control. This was AFTER the TNC2500 control came out. Even when the VMC came out with the DX control it was a few years and software revisions before they would rigid tap. Therefore I have serious doubts if your machine has rigid tapping capability. I do not know if you have a programming issue at this point. I am in service. You may need to find someone running this control or ask Heidehhain.
