I want to learn how to work with composites, specifically carbon fiber.

Where do i begin? I see some people doing miracle work with carbon fiber, bikes, boats, model planes, etc. I would like to learn.

My cnc machine can cut foam just fine for molds, and i have a vacuum setup for bagging.

Attached is a CRAZY picture of an all carbon fiber hover bike. Obviously this is the work of an artist, but you get the picture at what crazy things i would like to be able to do, or at least learn.

I've spent 35 years making composite parts but never cut them on a CNC router. I am about to start!

Just browsing their web site is a learning process and their tech support staff is patient and knowledgeable. The downside is that their prices are a notch higher but I'd sooner spend more and get it right the first time.

Suggestion two: do NOT start with carbon fiber. Start with bidirectional or unidirectional weaves of 6 ounce fiberglass over structural foam cores. CF is expensive as Hell and most people I know, even engineers, do NOT know how to optimize its properties. You'll learn just as much using glass without lightening your wallet.
