    Cleaning a new X2

Finally got my HF X2. Had to wait two days to unpack it cuz of a wedding & I had to get a new hand truck to move it!

I know I've found good instructions on how to clean it up, but I can't find the link anywhere.

Does anyone have recommendations for a really detailed, first cleaning?

    Thanks.

I took mine apart down to pretty much the last bolt and washed all the pieces in a 5 gallon bucket of hot soapy water. I dried everything and then started putting it all back together. I don't remember the oil I used on the ways, but I think it was 10w. But, one of the reasons that I tore it completely down was to CNC it when going back together. I ended up with a whole bunch of parts left over.

edit: After looking at the link, that is a lot more than what I did to mine. I basically just cleaned it and put it back together. I did use a very fine wet/dry sandpaper to smooth out the gibs before I put them back in.

    Thought so...
I was just looking at that page a couple of weeks ago because I just picked up my X2. That red crap sure is ugly and messy but comes off easy enough.
