Title CNC Swiss Lathe Setup Machinist
Location: Deerfield Beach, FL

Responsibilities:

A high tech, high-end contract manufacturing firm in the medical device industry looking for a Top Talent CNC setup machinists. The candidate should have knowledge and experience in dimensional control of quality (close tolerance) products and the ability to maintain high efficiency and productivity standards on lathes.
Responsibilities:
• Ability to translate CAD-CAM models and print drawings into machining strategies for precision part production;
• Responsible for complete machine set-up; and fixtures design
• Experience on multi-axis CNC lathes;
• Installation and editing of machine programs;
• Must be able to recognize proper cutting tool geometry and carbide grades;
• Set up on multiple production machines, following sequence of operations. Change controls to meet requirements of new job. Set speeds and feeds stainless steel and high temp materials. Ensure adequate supply of material is available.
• Operate machines and inspect initial parts against blueprint, make adjustments to accomplish total compliance;
• Troubleshoot and resolve problems on machines. Repair or replace parts as required;
• Able to sharpen and customize tooling if required;
• Cross-trained and able to run multiple machines;
• Work closely with manufacturing Engineer to determine tooling requirements for new jobs;
• Competent to use all necessary gaging to assure product quality.

Education/Training:

• High school education or a minimum of three years of hands-on, in set-up level or caliber position, CNC control experience is required.
• Willing to take a drug test & submit to a background investigation as part of the selection process;
• Able to multitask and run multiple CNC machines at any given time as well as become cross trained; and
• Ability to operate machines and perform basic shop maintenance as needed.
Qualifications:

Will be skilled in the programming (Fanuc Controller) and operation of a CNC Multi Axis Lathe.
