Does anyone know which states have the most cnc shops?
Does anyone know which states have the most cnc shops?
California?

My guess would be Michigan. By far the most tool and die makers and companies involved with machining. So I would assume CNC shops also.

I agree with the Michigan theory but Ohio might be in the running for the top spot.

Consistency is a good thing....unless you're consistently an idiot.
Here is a link to a web site to search machine shops by state.

I'd agree with Michigan from what I've heard and seen... Why though? There are some just about everywhere in one form or another...

There is 4 from my apartment to my work, on the same street only about 2 miles away.
There are no less than 30 shops within 15 miles of me at the OH MI border.
Ohio probably has more because MI is very rural outside the motor city.
I know back in 2000 before the stock market crash of 2001, there was a place in Santa Clara, Ca. where they converted a mini storage into mini shops!! You could drive down each isle & look inside the roll up doors and see a CNC in every place! Easily 500 shops all in one spot.... It was funny if you timed it right at lunch time, you could watch guys rolling out their tool boxes out of one unit and down the isle to another shop! They called it the lunch hour tool box suffle!!!lol
Any shops in Florida use Cimatron??
I know a few years back, California was #1 for manufacturing and Ohio was #2, the Cleveland/Akron area. If you are looking for used equiptment, you wouldn't believe how much the machinery liquidators have in stock right now in Cleveland.
