Hey All,

New to the CNC world. I own a Gerber Sabre 404, it was part of a signs and graphic business that my wife and I took over from a relative. It was operational as of 2 weeks ago on an older PC that used artpath 1.0 and windows 95. This business came with additional PCs, long story short, we consolidated hard ware and we're now trying to operate using a new(er) pc with windows 7 and artpath 5.0. Everything is operational until I attempt to send the job to the router and I'm getting a "spooling communication error." Since upgrading the pc I've had to use a USB to serial adaptor rs232 with a pl2303 chip.

All software and drivers are up to date as far as I can tell. As for all that, I'm out of ideas.

If anyone finds this thread on google.

Go to your device manager, ports, find the USB port that you have plugged in. See what COM it is.

Go back to your program, for me (Gerber Omega 5), and where the job is sent, showing what device it is being cut under. Right click the USB Device, Select Properties, Change the connection type to 'Serial' and the COM to the port you saw under device manager.

Not sure if it will ever help anyone, but came across this thread before clicking around myself and figured I leave my findings.
