    Contour selection

Hi can someone help me select the light blue lines and circles to form a contour?
I have broken the top line at the circle intersections and the circles start and end at the join on the top line.
I want the cutter to travel along the top line go around the arc the carry on along the top line to the next arc go around that etc.

    Hi Winaa,
I can do it with engrave, which just follows on top of the contour, but doesnt have any system offsetting capabilities. Does this work for you?

The profile option is locking up on it. I may switch it to inches and do some review of settings to see if I can figure out why the profile feature doesnt want to compute a path for this.

Here is a part that will do what you are looking for. I created a .004 break to allow for a contour to be formed on the part.

Thanks Burr I need to profile the contour offset to the right to produce the circular islands.
I have managed to code this on the old fashioned way and cut the part on my machine but would love to work out how to do it with bobcad.

I know there are other way to machine it but I feel this would be the most efficient way

Thanks Sean I tried your geometry unfortunately it didn't follow the contour as I had hoped. It machined the linear moves fist then jumped to the arcs and went around those anti-clockwise not clock wise like I need.

Hmmm, Seans file worked OK for me, I was able to create a contour and get it to run from the right hand end of the bottom line, along and round the arc at the left end going clockwise and then along the top, when it gets to the first circle it goes round it clockwise and the same for all the circles, that I think is what you were asking for ? ?

May be something to do with the way you created your contour, not sure if you did make a contour or not but I did and it works here, I`ll attach my file for you, I did it with the "Profile" feature with no offset so the centre of the tool runs on the contour, don`t know if that`s what you want but I`m sure you can play around with the offsets if you need one
