Hi Everyone;

I am wondering how to get solid tools into my Esprit simulations. Apparently it will take STL files (like Pimpel and WinTool) but I can't find anything in the help system for doing it myself.

I would like to get better models for interference detection. My mill/turn uses Capto's so Esprit's built in tools are not very good representations.

For the number of tools I have I really don't want to get WinTools or Pimpel. I can make my own STL files and I got a lot of solids from Sandvik.

I also had to give up my support contract with DP this year so I can't ask them.

You can simply read in the solids using the machine setup interface as a "whole" machine and buildl from there. Your turrets, spindles, etc (all of em) shoulld be centered and located at P0, so you can simply put in the XYZ locations for their "home" positions. This is easiest.

You need to do it the same way Wintool and Pimple does it; with a vba custom simulation macro, (which you create yourself).

It should be as easy as selecting a custon solid on the tool page...maybe that makes too much sence.

I tried to upload an E2010 .zip example but it just fails; Esprit is obviously not the only thing that doesn't work the way it should.

I did get help on Esprit's support web and have STL substitutions working now.
