Daewoo PUMA 240 ProMotion Turret Servo Drive alarm

    Good Morning Daewoo Homies,

Our '04 PUMA 240 MSB w/Fanuc 18iT control came up with an alarm this morning during
normal operation : ALARM 2047:TURRET CLAMP SW. OR TURRET CONTROL
    UNIT ALARM

We checked the TURRET CLAMP input signal X7.0 = 1 indicating the CLAMP switch
    input was correct.

Next, we inspected the ProMotion AC Servo Drive for the servo turret and found that it
was displaying: ALP - n in its LED window. Also, the TOOL NO. display on the control
    operator panel displays: 12 - 00 - 12 - 00 although tool station #7 is in-position.

We have the manual for the ProMotion drive (DASD-CT15) but this particular alarm is not
listed in the page of alarms.

Can someone ("CALLING DARRYL HARDT !?!?) please advise on how to remedy this alarm?

Thanks in advance for any knowledgeable responses.

Re: Daewoo PUMA 240 ProMotion Turret Servo Drive alarm

    Okay guys...Here's what I've learned...

Alarm 2047: TURRET CLAMP SW. OR TURRET CONTROL UNIT ALARM
means that either the CLAMP SW. input (Dgn. X7.0 on our PUMA 240) is
missing or there is a Turret Drive alarm. In our case, the ProMotion drive
for the servo turret was in an alarm condition: ALP - n

Doosan had provided a manual for this unit a while back but this alarm was
not in the alarm list. Someone @ Doosan advised that the drive was faulty.

Fortunately we had another identical machine that is offline waiting on
new collet chucks so I removed the turret drive from that machine and
installed it in the machine with the faulty drive.

When we powered on the machine with replacement drive the 2047 alarm
was still active. Following the TURRET HOME POSITION SET
PROCEDURE provided by Doosan (Bulletin No. 20.16) we were able to
recover our Tool #1 position and clear the alarm.

Be aware that recovery is two steps: A. Correct the TOOL NO display.
    B. Set the zero-point of the servo drive.

Recovery doesn't work exactly like the procedure, but it's close enough
    to get you back online.

Doosan's tech support is among the best IMO and they are very forthcoming
    with technical procedures.

Re: Daewoo PUMA 240 ProMotion Turret Servo Drive alarm

Final update: Our problem was initially that the ProMotion servo driver for the turret
displayed: ALP - n This alarm was not listed in the ProMotion alarm list.
When I called Doosan they advised to replace the drive. We swapped drives with
an identical machine that was out of service, waiting on new chucks. After a little
finagling with the Recovery Procedure we were able to get the machine online.

I put the (alleged) faulty drive into the other machine and powered it on to confirm
the alarm before I sent it out for repair only now the alarm display was: ALP - En.
This alarm was listed in the ProMotion manual and indicated that the encoder
battery was discharged. We replaced the battery and recovered the turret and that
machine is now back online too. Dunno what caused the alarm display to change
but it was a simple fix.

Re: Daewoo PUMA 240 ProMotion Turret Servo Drive alarm

    İyi aksamlar

Puma 1500y tezgahımız mevcut aynı hatayı bizde aldık

    2047 alarmı veriyordu

Alarm taret kilitli sensorunun bozuk oldugunu soyluyor
