    Demo Mode saved drawing

I have a drawing that I saved in demo mode, now that I have a registered version of BCC v23 the drawing won’t open. I'm getting this message, "The part was saved in demo mode, Unable to load in a license version." Is there some way around that or do I need to redraw in the license version?

You need to redraw the part.

The bold writing is pretty self explanatory. It does seem kind of dumb though that if you evaluate something, design something, then buy the product, you lose all the info.

This could be worth a try!!

Try opening V23 without the "dongle" and then try opening the original drawing with V23 in Demo Mode.

If it will open in Demo Mode and if it is just the geometry you need then you should be able to highlight all the geometry and then copy it to the Windows "clipboard".

Once that`s done then close BobCAD fully and then plug the "dongle" in and open BobCAD again and you should be able to "paste" the geometry into a new blank drawing!

You won`t be able to bring all the Features and toolpaths etc but if you have the geometry then it isn`t hard to redo the features!!

Worked for me with my BobCAD!!

    Regards
    Rob

Well ity would not be fair that you can draw in demo not owning a seat and then send it to someone who has bobcad somwhere else.

Here's the stupid thing. After I pulled the dongle out, I accidentally saved a drawing that I had done with the dongle in. It saved it in demo mode. Now it won't let me open it in licensed mode.

I've had this happen a couple of times.
    1) Open file in demo mode, select all, then copy.
    2) Insert dongle, re-launch program in licensed mode
    3) Paste geometry into a new file
    4) Save and you're done.

Thanks for the tip. That definitely helps. I still lost all of the CAM tree work, but on this drawing I was going to redo the tool paths anyway.
