    Unhappy Difference between 2D NC and 2.5D NC

    Hi Everybody

    I am working in CAD/CAM Domain same time I have created NC code for 2D NC & 3D NC

    But now i want create 2.5D NC code so Please Help me what is difference Between 2D&2.5D& 3D

    Pols,

    2D is primarily for driving an XY axes only, can be for simple mills, lasers, punch presses and punch presses.

    2.5D is for driving an XY and a Z axes set by stops, cams, etc where the codes that initiate changes can be done from CAM system via a post processor. You can still only contour in the XY because the Z axis has limited control.

    3D is for driving an XYZ axes and can do contouring in three axes simultaneously and all axes can be controlled at the same time.
