    Difference in cut depth

I have surface my spoilboard and I've noticed there is approx. .02" difference in the depth of cut from one end to the other over 8" in the x axis. What should I look for to correct this?
Could it just be the thickness of material varies? It's finished material, so I am unable to surface it before cutting.

    Re: Difference in cut depth

I would start with chucking up a dial indicator in the spindle and running it back and forth on the machine table in the direction that your loosing depth. If that checks out do the same with the material clamped to the table, Is it possible its only deeper in the middle of the table? Possible that the clamps are bowing the middle up.
When your machine goes to zero at the end of the cut is the z zero still true to where you originally touched off or has it changed as well?
