    Digitizing Probe Question

Hi I'm new to all this Cad/Cam stuff, I'm a instrument builder and I would like to know if I could use the tp100 probe to copy some violin and cello plates I have made? Is this unit compatible with mach 3?

I'm using gecko 202's and a Campbell designs combo board. I would like to operate the probe using mach 3's wizard without using the deskcnc controller. Would this be an effective way to copy parts? I'm going to purchase Rhino complete suite of software but I'm sure there will be a steep learning curve. My machine is a homebuilt 3-axis skate bearing design.

Can mach 3 process the point cloud info from the probe and how accurate are the copies? Is this something that is doable without a whole lot of grief for a newbie?

    Thanks

We also build instruments at metalcarver.com. I have one of those probes. If you would like to get a hold of me I would be willing to scan it for you and you can get back to me just how you wound up using it. Sounds interesting.
