    Direct Drive for Hi-Res Mill

    Hello,

    I am a newbie, and looking to develop a concept. I am looking at a mill that has a very high feed resolution (I am still looking for the data, but it I believe one turn will move the table about 20% of the distance of one turn on a Bridgeport). Can I get away with a direct drive stepper for this? How much torque will be required?
