NCNet lite from Cadem is free, but I use Hyperterminal for batch and for my Sodick. I use XPert DNC for DNC to my Fadal(XPert is not free)

As far as txt goes - I have used word and then the "save as" txt and not had any issues.
When sending batch with Hyperterminal I dont send as a program I always send as text (right or wrong? it works).

I will look into hyperterminal again as I havn't used it in years. But the last time I used it I remember it being more of a pain that a help, As it was originaly though up as a modem communication tool.

as far as ncnet from Cadem it only goes to 9600 baud Gibbs cam goes to 115 but the 115 dosn't seem to work so I have been using it at 38k baud.

I am not looking for a way to do DNC I am looking for a Faster DNC program. Preferably free and definitaly simple and easy.
    thanks

We all want thing for free but with software I find you get what you pay for I use Quick Link it has work very well for me but if need to send very large files over a 1meg files to a dnc set-up I like Predator and I also use PowerStation for some of my programming try this site

Well its all about time management And I didn't want to have to write my own program to do this. The front end would invariably take too much time and be way more than I needed and the communications part is realy fairly simple.

I would rather use or buy something that works but companies that think data transfer over an rs232 port should cost several hundreds of dollars are looking to either not sell their product or producing WAY more of a front end interface than I want or need.

I am keeping my mind set on cheap for one reason, you do get what you pay for and I am not looking for anything other than sending files back and forth NO DNC per say.

I don't realy want to pay for someones version of an f-18 fighter when all I need is a cesna (albiet a fast cesna).
    thanks

I am out of constructive comments now but for some reason am still typing ;-)
My Sodick will accept transmission at 4800 max and the Fadal will only buffer about 2500 blocks so 14k suits my fancy.
I wish it was time to go home because you guys have made me thirsty.
Gotta get the Sodick sparking instead

quick link is a good sample of the type of companies I am talking about.

Thier product looks good but I already have a 20k cad/cam package with DNC I am just looking for one that dosn't cause problems on the computer I am using. So I realy don't wish to spend 200-500.00 for this feature. Will try hyperterminal later today.
    thanks

I don't know how much Multi-DNC costs, but I've been using it for almost 7 years now with no problems.
