The boss just bought one of these it is a 2008 model anyone have one of these?
What do you all think of them?
If anyone has a program using the live tooling and the sub spindle I would really like a copy so I can take a look at it.
Thanks

Those are pretty cool machines. I'm guessing you don't have a Y axis. Y makes it much easier to mill flats, well at least program them.
I always had problems finding the space for all of the tools you need to 1 OP a part. Look at MD Tooling for live tool holders. Look at some of the static gang tool holders they have and Doosan offers as well. Anything you can do to simplify the setups will pay off.
The subspindle partoff can be tricky. There's not much free space to work with.
I believe it'll use P-codes for each spindle. P11 should be the main turning and c-axis spindle. P12 should be the live tooling spindle motor.
This is basic advice, but I always setup in 0% rapid. Once I had a good one down we went to 25% for a few more. Then the operator could got to 100%. These machines move quick. You can wreck the crap out of these in a split second and ruin a perfectly good day...
Here's some simple live tooling action.
