I am strugeling to find solution for horizontal movement of Dremel toward material and back (attached drawing) on partly rotating platform.

1. Operation
I would like to achieve precize movement forward (as precize as possible). Shell i use stepper motor nema 17 with reduction pulley or servo motor sg90?

2. Movement
Dremel has to be in horizontal position. Would you advise easiest construction for movement forward/backward)? I am thinking to place this construction on platform with possibility of rotation from +45° to -45° (may be little bit more. My primary issue is to find soluton for forward/backward movement.
