Is there a way to sort a drill toolpath other then the default?
To clarify, by sort, do you mean controlling the order in which each hole is drilled?
Sort could or should be horizontal or vertical or closet pattern.
Dear Camtd,
What version of Gibbs are you running?
You can always select each hole or center point in the order you want them drilled. Another method of sorting is to open the fourth tab "Modify" and drop down to "Sort". You can then select the order in which you desire a series of holes to hbe drilled. You may select an "S" pattern, "closest hole next" or reverse the pattern. With the "S" pattern you can change the Y and X scan heights and gap width parameters to control the sort. I am able to do this in V9.0 but I believe earlier versions had this ability as well.
Good luck!

Hi,
I am using version 9 also my fourth tab says Premill. I was using the AFR wizard to indentify the imported parasolid. I tried the regular drill opp. and that offers the same option for the fourth tab Premill.
Premill was going to be a question later on.
Hey,
I assume you have imported geometry and you are able to select the holes or points you desire to drill. Your menu choices at the top left of your screen, File, Edit, View, Modify, Processes, Solids etc.... Select Modify and right below Segment spline is "SORT" select this and you should be all set.

That option is there as you said. Thank You.
I did not get it to do what I wanted before I had to move onto another project but I will play around with it.
Have you used the Pre-Mill tab before? I am just reading up on it now.
Pre-Mill is for relieving corners in pockets prior to a milling operation.
I used it many versions ago and it works, but now just about all of the milling I do is high speed so if I need to relieve corners I do it with helical bores or roughing operations. The Advance 3D toolpaths work really nice, but sometimes I still need separate ops for these corners.
