I never have, but I do have one as a volume control in my car.
The thing seems to be speed sensitive, more pulses/steps are sent the faster you turn it. Like:
Turn slow = 1 pulse every 10 deg
Turn fast = 1 pulse every 2 deg.

Dont know if this would be an issue as a jog control (might even be usefull) but it does take some getting used too. Ok for me but hard for a new user (like the touchpad thing the first time you use a laptop).

Quality of the control is top notch but (I think it is a driver issue) somtimes they just wont work when you boot up requireing a restart (1 time in 10?)
