    EMC2 latency from Network card

I installed EMC2 (2.2.2.1) then updated via the update manager. When I run a latency-test with the network card disabled it is under 15,000 BUT if I enable the nic it jumps to 30K-51K and jumps around in the mid 20k, if I disable the nic and restart the test it is less than 15k.

I have moved the nic to a different slot, I have not tried a new nic, curently the only 1 I have (an IBM10/100 card using an AMD chipset edvice manager lists as a PCnet32 LANCE.

I know I can disable the nic when using emc so that isn't a problem. Has anyone seen this before?

IF I could get my Netgear wg311v2 working under Ubuntu it might not be an issue... well it won't be an issue since I don't have a hard wired network connection at my router right now.....

    Solution.....

Went to TigerDirect bought a Trendnet TEW-441PC wireless adapter for $30. I had spent 3+ hours trying to get the Netgear working only took maybe 5 minutes to get the other card working.

Latency over 15+ minutes 15,363 and that is pulling 12+mb of updates and installing plus surfing the web
