I want to engrave some text on a piece of wood that I stained and sealed, then I want to paint the text with a different color, How do I do it and what paints are good for high gloss.. I tried it already by engraving the text after i stained and sealed it then painted over the text but could not wipe it off good enough where you could not see the paint on the surface. how is it done...

Sign mask. I bought mine from signwarehouse.com. About $15 for a small roll.

Will it work under an engraving bit with out tearing, or balling up on the bit. the way i want to try this is put the stain and sealer on then put on the sign mask then do the engraving and let the bit cut out the text. next paint the text with the paint,let dry then peel the mask off hoping to get clean crisp text with no paint bleeding on the surface. if this will do this I will order some. Thank you
