    excellon comments

    Does anyone know if there is a comment command for excellon drill code. I know of the M47 message to operator command, however I do not want the operator to have to see the message. I read about the M48 start of header command and it said I can use the semicolon ; to add comments after the M48 command but it didn't seem to like that.
    Does anyone know of any other way to tack on some comments to an excellon drill file without having the machine crash?

    That's going to be control dependant. Try a * or a ' Both are pretty common in a lot of controls.
