Tormach sells this kit 31997 - 4th Axis kit - 8" Tilting Motorized Rotary Table - Freight Additional for the 1100
I can't seem to find any real good info or videos on this tilting rotary table. It's obvious that without a tailstock you're not going to be able to hold anything too long with this so you're limited in work piece size when actually using the tilting. But other than that can anyone give some feedback on this kit?
Does the extra rotation cause much if any loss in precision over the 4th axis kit that just rotates?
Does the sprutcam7 that comes with the Tormach allow you to tilt the 4th axis so you can actually make good use of this table when you're doing toolpathing?
Another 4th axis general question:
Obviously a lathe is the preferred tool for a cylindrical part, but can you make a near equivalent part slowly turning full revolutions with your 4th axis and using an end mill to remove material from the outside perimeter?
