Hello pals,

My company just bought a Fagor 8040M. Since i dont have any conversational programming experience, i wanted to use the USB to directly send programs to the machine.
Unfortunately, the machine cannot read the USB device.

Hi,

USB function is not available in 8040M. You need to set up a DNC communication between PC and CNC through serial or ethernet port.

Just like Mert-G said, no USB on 8040. USB first appeared the second generation of 8055i controls from Fagor. They're now standard on all of their new controls.

Is there actually a USB port on your control? I think there may be some instances where the control is a 8040 but it may actually have a 8055 cpu with 8040 software loaded... Fagor seems to have that where the parts can work for multiple types of controls, but certain features may not work when a newer part is used on a older system ie if you have a USB port on the 8040 it wont work.
