Exclamation Fanuc 18M remote control in memory mode

    Hello! I need help.
We have a Takumi cnc milling machine (2001) with a Fanuc 18M controller. I noticed that we can move the axes of the machine with the remote control (Handle) while a program is running in automatic memory mode. Which can cause several damages.
Does anyone know how to disable the remote in memory mode?
    Thanks

Re: Fanuc 18M remote control in memory mode

the problem must be in the selection switch of the modes-edit,mdi,zrn,auto,handle,etc
when you select one position lets say auto mode, the signal must be in only 1 or 2 contacts ,depending of the PMC ,the rest of signals must be 0
so when auto mode and handle mode ar eboth on that means the 24v that should go off from one contact is still present and i assume is the selector switch or a cable problem
so please in diagnose and check these signals that corespond to each mode you select
any other bits are on or off apart from this, means an anomalyClick image for larger version.

Re: Fanuc 18M remote control in memory mode

    Hello, thank's for the informations.

I checked the wiring between the electronic card and the remote control, everything is ok. I noticed that no matter the position of the mode selector (MDI, AUTO, EDIT, HANDLE, JOG, ZRN etc. the 24 volts is always present on the remote.
I tried to find the input/output G0043 in the controller and I did not find it. According to the machine manual (Fanuc) normally it should be under the OPEHIS heading in SYSTEM, but this menu is not found on my machine.

look in the ladder for the signal G43.5
Is that signal on no matter what you select?

Re: Fanuc 18M remote control in memory mode

    Hello,
I did not find the variable G43.5 directly. When I write G43.5 and press the SRCH key, it takes me to the next Ladder: see attached files. However, I found G41, G41.1 and G41.2
Also, I finally managed to check (G0043) the contacts of the mode selector with the PMCDGN function and the bits corresponded to the Fanuc request for each of the functions: AUTO, MDI, HANDLE, EDIT, etc. as you had indicated in your table. I also found them in the machine manual (Fanuc).
