Apparently there are 3 parameters involved: 3102, 3119, and 3190 (see attached .jpg).

Check 3102 and see if bit 3 (3rd from right) is 1 (Chinese - traditional characters). If it is, then you should be able to change bit 3 to 0, and you're good to go.

If 3102 is all 0's, then check 3190 bit 6 (Chinese - simplified characters). If bit 6 is 1, then you should be able to change it to 0 and get English.

Changing parameters can be hazardous to your machine's health, so above all, BE CAREFUL.

To change parameter 3102 bit 3, go to MDI mode, press OFS/SET and then [SETTING]. Change PARAMETER WRITE = 1 (you'll get an alarm... ignore it), then press SYSTEM, [PARAM], 3102, and NO SRH.

Cursor > or < until you highlight the bit you want to change (bit 3). Type 0 (zero) and press INPUT.

Change PARAMETER WRITE back to 0. You'll have to power down and power back up the control.

wow - thank you both for the reply. i'm in way over my head. no prior experience with the screen displays and everything is Chinese...

To change parameter 3102 bit 3, go to MDI mode, press OFS/SET and then [SETTING]. Change PARAMETER WRITE = 1 (you'll get an alarm... ignore it), then press SYSTEM, [PARAM], 3102, and NO SRH
firstly, when you type "[SETTING]" - am i to understand that is displayed on the screen (soft keys) because i do not have a button for 'setting'. And if so, is it possible that it's in Chinese because it does not seem to be an option i can read.

[SETTING] is one of the softkey labels, which appear on the screen above the buttons. They are called softkeys because the function of each button is software controlled based on current screen display.

In your case, it will most likely be in chinese. The softkey should be the second button from the left (3rd if you count the arrow key) or you can get to the same screen by simply pressing OFF/SET twice from any other display screen. EG, if the display is showing the parameters, press OFF/SET twice to bring up the setting screen.

NO SRH mentioned by dcoupar is also a softkey and IIRC it is first on left (not counting arrow key). Or you can simply page down until you get to 3102.

    regards, Oz

    1. First you choose MDI mode
    2. Press OFS/SET (On Key Pad)
    3. Turn on Parameter Write to 1 by key in “1” input (PWE=1)
    4. Press System key (Bottom of CRT)
    5. Press Page down to Parameter # 3102 (On Key Pad)
    6. Key in 00000000 Press input
    7. then you will see parameter 3102 = 00000000
    8. Press OFS/SET (on Key Pad)
    9. Change Parameter Write back to lock position by Key in “0” input (PWE=0)
    10. Press Reset

I hope this help, if not you should contact local service take care that for you, good luck

Language is set! thanks - now for basics?

Hey! Start the week off and running! Thank you for the instructions and we are now communicating in English. My edit was to parameter 3190 since 3102 was set to all '0'. Just to close the loop on what needed to be done.

Ok - so now, a general question:

To learn how to input a program, is it best to learn at the key pad, inserting data directly in or should i get a program that allows me to create it here at the desk and then import it? Then use the key pad to edit ...etc

and rather than post a question to every step i make, perhaps someone could point me in the direction of a good on-line course that would best get me the basics on how to begin.

thanks again - wonderful bunch here.
