    FANUC MEMORY CLEAR & PRECAUTIONS

    FRIENDS,

WHAT ARE ALL THE PRECAUTIONS TO BE TAKEN WHILE CLEARING THE MEMORY & RELOADING THE NC,PMC PARAMETERS IN FANUC OM CONTROL.

IS IT NECESSARY TO ENTER THE 900 PARAMETERS BY HAND FIRST.
DO WE HAVE TO DISCONNECT THE I/O CARDS, AXIS CARDS,SPINDLE DRIVE CONNECTIONS ETC AT THE TIME OF RELOADING .

    TAHNKS,

    FS0M loading

    Chandru,

The procedures are different for various versions of the famous Fanuc 0.
The last one I loaded happened to be a Fanuc 0TD, which came from India. There is a label on the top of the logic rack that tells which model it is. If it is an early 0MA, 0TA, 0TB or 0MB, it will have a large mother board. The procedures are different, especially if it is a 0D control. The "D" version has some built in tricks to prevent you from loading certain options. You may need to contact Fanuc to get the procedure for this one. The A, B, and C versions are more straightforward. In these cases, loading the 900's by hand is usually a good place to start.

The brand new 0iT and 0iM are different from the rest.

    Which one do you have?

why are you clearing memory (910 911 alarms?) make sure you write down the 900 parameters and the diagnostics (i think).. and YES after you do a reset and delete on power up put the 900's in first.. no you dont have to disconnect anything just have estop pushed in for precaution reasons..

try to make a parameter back up or write them all down by hand trust me. it will make life a LOT easier

With the 0 you can also load the 900's by PC.
They can also be saved this way.

not if you did a reset and delete on power up.. you can punch them out when your done inputting all the parameters.. but you cant just load the 900's via pc initially..
