    fanuc om not starting programs

Need assistance please. have an Anderson cnc wood router which will not start when the cycle /start button is pressed.
The button has tested ok. Everything can operate manually. The machine turns on fine and the ready light comes on.There are no error messages at all.
It is as if the cycle/start button has been disabled.
Tecnician came and he checked the ladder at the cycle/start area and said that it was working fine there also.

Any assistance in this matter is greatly appreciated.

Is there any door interlocks that is not allowing it not to move? Also check to make sure that your waylube is full. I have heard that this will cause no movement but also give no alarm.

You need to go to the diag screen and see if any reset signals etc are on. Can't believe any service guy worth his salt couldn't find a cycle start problem. Just got to search the ladder!

The first question to ask is, "Was it told to start"?
In order to start, address G120.2 must pulse high in the ladder.

The second question is, "Was it told not to start"?
This will happen if the feed hold signal, G121.5, is off.

Look at both signals in the ladder or diagnostic screen. This is a good starting point.

Feed hold will always over ride cycle start.

Hi Shoprag (love the name bythe way)
Thankyou for your assistance, you are spot on with your suggestion.
We managed to sort the problem just before I received an email telling me I had a response on the forum. I was recommended to a Tech who specialise in Fanuc and he found that it was exactly what you said - problem with the feed hold signal.
He went on to say it was a bad connection in the controller where the Honda connection is attached. Does that sound right to you?
Machine is working fine at the moment.

    Once again thankyou so much.

    .
I have seen a similar problem where power to the switch had been lost, the feed-hold signal is normally active-low, so any defect or disconnect to the switch causes a feed-hold.
