fillet edge when surface is not wide enough

    Hi,

I want to fillet an edge on an object created through lofting and boolean operations. The fillet should easily be possible but I encounter a problem. When I explode my object it turns out that the bottom surface is in fact two surfaces and the one connecting to the edge I want to fillet is not wide enough to allow for the size of the fillet I want. I've attached the offending parts in a rhino file.
I've tried to join the two parts of the bottom surface but that (obviously) does not help.
What's the, most likely very simple, solution to this problem?

    Thanks,

    Arjen

Select curve-curve from objects-duplicate edge and get the bottom edge of the vertical surface and the outer edge, then delete the 2 flat surfaces, then planarsrf the outer edge, then edit-trim that planar srf with the inner edge and join the 2 surfaces.

There's probably a few other ways, but thats a start...

Here's another. Delete the little inner flat surface, then run surface-surface edit tools-adjust closed surface seam, then clcick the inner edge of the flat surface. Then surface-surface edit tools-untrim holes. Then edit-trim and trim the large flat surface with the vertical one and join those.

Don't know if I understand everything you're saying, but I'll try to do this as soon as I've got a spare moment.

Thanks, I'll let you know what happens.

Here's a couple videos of the first and second way:

    surface trim - YouTube

    surface trim too - YouTube

There's definitely other ways than this...
