Below is a slight variation of the Christmas Ornament design recently posted on the site. This sign was engraved into a 8.5" (220mm) diameter slate blank using a 100 included angle cutter running at 12,000 rpm and 15" per minute, using multiple 0.02" (0.5mm) Z level passes.

This design could be part of an interchangeable sign, with a different decorative design for each of the seasons - Spring, Summer, Fall (Autumn) & Winter.

Did the tool bit survived the job?! Only air cooling, right?

Hi Paco,

Yes, the job was engraved using a single cutter and without any cooling or lubricant. The same cutter was also used for a previous job into slate and has probably been cutting for 3 hours

It's showing signs of wear but still good for another hour or so's cutting.
