Can Fusion360 CAM - create a toolpath from an imported 3D Nurb spline??
Hello, I used to have a small machine tool business and used Surfcam for programming my cnc equipment. I have been helping a friend with creating a few nc programs until he acquires his own programming software such as Fusion360. I have been creating a few tool paths for him by importing his igs file of a 3d Nurb Spline and following it as a 3d contour to generate the xyz NC code. I also offset it in Z based on the ball end mill he specifies.
I do not have Fusion360 nor used it but have recommended to my friend Fusion360 for tool path creation, I like what have seen so far about it.
Can anyone confirm that Fusion360 can make nc code from an imported iges of a 3D Nurb Spline like what I can with my Surfcam?
If anyone cares to create a sample code file that would be great, I would be interested to know the process on how its how its done in Fusion but more importantly that it can actually be done.
Attached is a sample 3D Nurb Spline and the NC Code that I generated in Surfcam with a a 10mm Ball tool.
CNCZone has always been a wealth of information for me, thank you to all contributors. Robert
