    G75 and Parting Off

    Hi
I am having problems with long cuttings when parting off, once the tool is in the about 5mm deep I get nice clockwork shavings but prior to that I have long shavings, that take up a lot of space.
Start diameter is 160mm, and finish is 143mm, part off tool is 4mm wide, CSS 150m/min, feed 0.075mm/rev, material 1020 mild steel, qty 5,000 off.
I think I should be using G75 instead of G1 that I could then set a peck cycle, but not sure on how to go about it?
At the current rate I fill a 44 gallon drum in a day with swarf from the parting cycle alone .

Lathe is a Colchester Tornado 200.

    Any suggestions greatly appreciated.
    Best Regards

    Hi
Sorted it out with G75, reduce the shavings by half with pecking but need to talk to insert/tool suppliers for better chip control.
