    Updated pics, VFD, etc

Just got the wiring going for our spindle head motor. Motor is a three phase 480 volt 1.5HP 1800RMP Baldor ran through a 7.5HP Reliance 3 Phase VFD. Having only a 240 single phase connection we get our 480 by essentially reverse wiring a 30KVA three phase 480 to 120/240 transformer and the VFD in turn provides a three phase output (its a three phase VFD but its unnecessary to wire it as such). Just waiting on the pulley for the X2 head and we'll be milling aluminum!
