Gathering for new build, looking for info.

I’m starting the adventure of self-learning a bit of CNC and starting by building my own.
Ultimately I would like to be able to cut aluminum and I’m thinking no larger than a 25” x 25” platform.

My son is currently in a machining class in high school, so I thought this would be cool to work on together.

    So far I’ve purchased.

    4ea, G213V
G213V Selectable Resolution Digital Stepper Drive
    4ea, G723-400-4
    G723-400-4 NEMA 23 Step Motor

I’m not sure about the breakout board.

How is the PMDX-126 or PMDX-122 specifically with the PMDX-134 motherboard?
PMDX.COM - Products for CNC and motion control applications

    Or

The C35 from cnc4pc.com specifically with the RJ45 breakouts ( not sure if compatible with G213V)

    Thanks!

The PMDX-126 is at the top of the list of breakout boards. It would be my choice.

From what I'm reading that does seem to be the best for what im willing to pay.

    Ordered

    Multi-Mode Breakout Board
    Item # PMDX-126

Simple Motherboard for Geckodrive Stepper Motor Drivers
    Item # PMDX-134

26-pin Female to Female Ribbon Header Cable, 18 inch

Time to hit the manuals and figure out how to wire this contraption... :drowning:

Nice choice. I've been helping a friend that has a PDMX-125 & PDMX-134 and if I ever build another machine I'd most likely build one with their stuff.
