Question geko 2002 project status ?

has anyone used or built the geko 20002 project as per the gekodrive yahoogroup , i would like to know any experiences , and it's current status
and infact if it is complete or work in progress .

i fancy a challange over the christmas period , it also has the added effect of keeping me away from more challenging aspects this time of year , such as the mother in law.

If you read the messages on that group for the last 2 weeks, Mariss made an announcement on the status. It will no longer be an "open source" type project. All development is being brought in house. It's doubtful you'd still be able to purchase one, but you could always call Gecko and ask. Now that the new G204 drives are finished, Mariss plans to move forward with the G2002 (G2005?). Hopefully, we'll see a finished product sometime next year.

it's a stepper controller with heat/voteage protection and a way to lower heat when steppers are holding or low rpm. but not mid/full speed rpm. . at a higher cost of 165 bucks. So it's kind of cool but really not a big deal when compared to the 210 drive. check the yahoo groups for more info..
