im considering building a "hot whire foam cutter" it will ideally have a rotary table. contruction of such a device :

is fairly easy for me, as I have a "full" metal shop in my loft.

what i want to know is how to controll it with standard CAM software. I know RC modelers use specialized software to cut wings, but i want to make cores and paterns for small casting projects. i like how precise these devices can be, and inexpensive.. i can imagine such a device with a rotary table could make many 3dshapes. controlling the device scares me though! I may build one on blind-fath and hope something worksout.

if not, i can easily write "art" software that makes the thing cut random algorithmic patterns or something..... even simply making it run the axis at different random speeds in the foam could be interesting...

Anyone know the answer?
