HAAS laptop to cnc communication interface

I'm new to CNCs. My question for those familiar with this is, is there a special communication interface between the laptop and the CNC, or can it be done with a simple USB cable?
    The CNC is a HAAS
    We have:
    1 ST-30Y
    1 TM-2P
    2 VF-2
    1 VF-3
    1 MINIMILL
    1 VF-2SS
    1 VF-1

My job is to connect the laptops to the CNCs. The workers are responsible for downloading the programs and running them on the equipment, but they don't know how to communicate. I don't know if I can do this via RS-232 and configure this communication on the CNC.

    Thanks in advance

Hey,i dont know about the newer ones, but we have a vf3 and a vf1 and they are both connected with a pc with windows xp on it because they are 2002 models. Howevery they are connected with rs232 port. I would like to try the floppy disk to usb adapter though.

Consider wireless nc file transfers using a system like ShopLink LOW COST Wireless.
Or usb flash drive based devices that make an older RS232 machine look like it has native usb.
Use can use a ShopLink FLASH 2.0 and walk it around to all the machines to load programs
or attach one to each. Google them.
